Random General Update
Some people have been laughing at me and my lack of blogging... well, what can I say? Obviously, I enjoy reading about other people's lives much more than I enjoy communicating my own. This means that a. my life is boring b. i'm too voyeuristic and/or c. i'm a lazy bastard. Great.
So here's a random general update on the key things happening in my life. Congratulations, you're about to be bored.
Uni
Sweet Jesus exams are soon... on the 7th, 8th and 14th to be precise. This is the earliest I've ever finished, I think, because languages are usually at the arse-end of exams... and yet for some reason my languages are my first two exams this semester. Yay (not). The number of times I've complained about finishing so late and not being able to enjoy my time... I am such a fool. I keep forgetting that I don't actually study much during semester so I kind of need that last bit of time to cram like crazy. And it's hard to cram like 150 kanji, like 50 grammatical constructions and like one million vocabs into a week's cramming... and that's just Jap!
Work/Money
I am so freakin' broke it's not funny, and for some reason I just can't seem to find a decent, stable job. I-View sucked, Salesforce was great but the campaign finished early... I'm hoping that third time's the charm and I land something easy, well-paying and stable. The problem is that I need a workplace that'll put up with my random trips interstate and overseas (thanks aiesec)... *sigh*
Hi-D
Well it was 6 months the other day and boy does time fly. I think it was 5 mths like a day ago... ok maybe not. Anyways, it's been great... Thanks for everything and the ups definitely make the downs worth it. Not much more needs to be said.
AIESEC
I dont know, really. It's been a cruisy 6 months as LCP but I think cruisy in a bad way. Sure I haven't faced any major stresses or challenges. This is, in part, because I have an awesome EB team that I can rely on. But there is a big, gaping TN-shaped hole in our LC right now and unlesss we fill it, and several times over, I can never say this year has been a total success for me. Yargh. Add to that the thought-provoking speech made by Peter Ivett on leadership at YLC and you have a whole major leadership-epiphany thing going off in my head. Have I been a leader for this LC? Have I done more than just manage the EB team? Discuss. (Actually don't, spare me.)
Hip Hop
GZA vs. DJ Muggs was sweet. Looking forward to hearing the new Busta album. Disappointed that Lupe Fiasco and Game got pushed back. There are some sweet mixtapes out there on the circuit. I'm slowly converting Heidi into a Hip Hop head... word. 'Nuff Said (this belongs on my other blog)
Squash
I have found a new sports-love. Futbol is of course still my favourite sport by far, both to play and to watch. But organising a regular futbol game in this day and age (when everyone is so freakin' busy) is like drawing blood from a stone. Squash on the other hand is terrifically entertaining and fantastically 'funeriffic. Expect more posts about my squash-related conquests soon (i bought a racquet and I beat Joyce! YAY! I beat Joye! Sabrina is my next target...)
Futbol
